From the rise of cyberbullying to the growing concern of media addiction, educators worldwide are facing a critical question: Is traditional education enough to prepare the future generation for an increasingly complex digital world?

On March 28, 2026, an international webinar hosted by HWPL provided a compelling answer. Titled "Beyond the Desk: Shaping the Future Generation," the event served as a digital crossroads where educators and officials from eight different nations—including Korea, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Marshall Islands—converged to share a singular mission.

Despite the geographical and cultural distances, the consensus among the 100 participants was clear: the challenges facing youth today are universal, and the solution must be equally global.

The dialogue moved quickly past academic statistics to the heart of the matter—the internal world of the student. Judith Siakalima Muzona, a regional education policy officer from Zambia, emphasized that the primary role of education in the current era must be the formation of correct values.

In an age where cyber-violence is becoming a routine experience for many, simply advocating for "better behavior" is insufficient. The webinar highlighted the necessity of a systematic framework, positioning HWPL’s Peace Education as a proactive tool rather than a reactive measure.

Lesson 6: The Practical Power of Consideration

The most engaging segment of the event was a live demonstration of Lesson 6 from the HWPL Peace Education curriculum, titled "Consideration." This session moved beyond abstract theory, offering a practical look at how empathy can be internalized as a core skill.

The demonstration prompted a vital discussion among participants:

  • What if students were taught to prioritize consideration over immediate digital reactions?

  • Could empathy be institutionalized as a fundamental competency, similar to mathematics or science?

Educators noted that such "action-oriented" lessons provide students with the tangible tools needed to de-escalate conflict and foster a safer school environment in real-world settings.
