The DPCW: A Blueprint for Global Peace Crafted by Legal

In a world still plagued by conflict, where cries of war and suffering echo across the globe, the need for a solution to establish lasting peace has never been more urgent. Among the global peace movements, one organization stands out: HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light). Led by Chairman Lee Man-hee, HWPL works tirelessly to bring nations and communities together to achieve true peace.

The DPCW, a set of 10 articles and 38 clauses, was designed through the collective effort of 15 prominent international law experts and peace advocates from across the globe. One of these contributors, Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Chair of the Faculty of Law at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, serves as a key member of HWPL’s International Law Peace Committee (ILPC). His insights, shared during his presentation at the 7th Anniversary of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) on March 14, 2023, provide a detailed look into the purpose and significance of this landmark initiative.

What is the DPCW?

The DPCW, consisting of 10 articles and 38 clauses, was drafted in 2016 by a group of 15 international law experts convened by HWPL. It emphasizes key principles such as the prohibition of war, the reduction of armed conflict, peaceful resolution of disputes, and the promotion of peace education. The goal is for the DPCW to be adopted as a resolution by the UN General Assembly and eventually incorporated into national and international legal frameworks.

What makes the DPCW remarkable is its ability to resonate universally. While legal documents can often be complex, the core message of the DPCW—peace, unity, and happiness—is something everyone can relate to. Its principles are accessible and relevant to people from all walks of life, making it more than just a legal framework; it's a call for collective action toward peace and prosperity.

Spreading Peace Through Grassroots Initiatives

A defining feature of the DPCW is its grassroots approach. Professor Islam emphasized that the DPCW is not just for governments and international organizations but for people of all backgrounds. By involving citizens, students, and activists, HWPL ensures that the values of the DPCW resonate at every level of society.

This grassroots spirit is evident in HWPL’s DPCW Handbook Discussion Projects, which engage law schools, universities, and NGOs worldwide. One notable example is the major offline event held at Bangalore University in India in February 2023, attended by law students and faculty, where the DPCW’s potential to institutionalize peace was explored. Such projects inspire young leaders to understand, advocate for, and implement peace principles in their communities, creating a ripple effect of change.

A Call to Action

Professor Islam believes that the DPCW represents a new dimension in global peace movements, adding depth to existing efforts for prosperity and happiness. He urges people from all walks of life—citizens, youth, and world leaders alike—to unite under the leadership of HWPL and Chairman Lee to institutionalize peace.

“By embracing the DPCW’s values and working together,” he says, “we can end wars, protect human rights, and ensure a brighter, peaceful future for all.”

HWPL’s unwavering commitment to peace reminds us that change starts with individuals and grows through collective action. Let us come together to support the DPCW, share its message, and become ambassadors of peace. Together, we can make the dream of world peace a reality.

Joining Hands for Peace

Through the leadership of Chairman Lee and the efforts of advocates like Professor Islam, HWPL is making strides in creating a world united under the banner of peace. The DPCW is not just a declaration; it is a global movement that calls for action at every level of society.

Let us join this transformative journey. By supporting the DPCW and participating in HWPL’s peace initiatives, we can turn the dream of global peace into reality. Together, we can ensure that the legacy we leave for future generations is one of harmony, understanding, and hope.
