The 6th International Religious Leaders' Conference

The 6^th International Religious Leaders’ Conference was held on the 2^nd day of the 9^th World Peace Summit. During the conference, religious watched the video of religious peace activities, checked the progress on religious peace initiatives, listened to speeches of keynote speakers and commemorative remark of HWPL Chairman Manhee Lee, and witnessed the appointment ceremony of HWPL Solidarity of Religions’ Peace Committee.

“Religious Peace Academy (RPA): Platform for Comparative Studies on Scriptures,” the theme of the conference, is the program created by HWPL to make the cooperation and peace among different religious which will ultimately dedicate to the global peace.  

Chairman Manhee Lee said that HWPL is working under the title of peace on a global level and that peace and cessation of war is for everyone. He explained that the reason why peace advocates gathered in this summit is to become the family of peace. He reminded participants that they are members of the peace family and complete the duty of peace family. He delivered his hope for everyone to love others as ourselves, work together to follow the right path, and to shine the light on the whole world.

Three speakers delivered the afterthoughts on their participation in RPA. All speakers evaluated RPA as an effective way to harmonize different religions and to promote peace. They recognized that active communication with other religious people enables deeper understandings and cooperation among different religions.

HWPL has emphasizing multilateral cooperation, including governments, international organizations, and civil society, as an essential measure for world peace. Since 2014, HWPL has been operating World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) offices around the world to prevent conflict due to religious, to promote understanding between religions, and to explore the role of religion for peace. In addition, scripture comparison discussions among religious leaders, religious peace camp to promote respect and understanding among young religious people, and Religions’ Peace Committee to share peace message as religious leaders were other main activities by HWPL to promote religious harmony in a global society.
