Peace Begins Within: Building Walls of Harmony in the Heart of Busan

In a world often defined by conflict and noise, where does true peace actually start? Is it in a signed treaty, or is it something deeper? On March 21, 2026, a gathering in Busan provided a powerful answer: “Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed.”

With this vision, HWPL Global 03 Branch hosted the “Peace Citizens’ Dialogue Square,” bringing together over 30 leaders from religious, social, and cultural sectors to rediscover the original blueprint of peace.

A Lesson from the Great Outdoors: Nature’s Harmony

The core of the dialogue was centered on a simple yet profound theme: “Messages of Peace Found in Nature.” Using HWPL’s Peace Textbook, participants explored how the natural world operates as the ultimate community—thriving through harmony rather than hostility.

The discussion broke down peace into four essential pillars:

  1. The Earth as Our Shared Foundation: Recognizing our common home.

  2. Unity in Diversity: How different species and elements coexist.

  3. Balance and Cooperation: The natural law of mutual support.

  4. The Original State: Returning to a world without conflict.

Voices of the Community: From Business to Belief

What made this event truly "engaging" was the diversity of voices. Peace wasn't just a lecture; it was a shared realization among people from all walks of life:

  • A Local Entrepreneur shared a poignant reminder: "We don't live forever. Instead of letting greed take over, we should choose to live with consideration and respect."

  • A North Korean Defector moved the audience by noting that while borders exist, the beauty of nature is the same everywhere. Her hope for reunification served as a living testimony to why this work matters.

  • A Photography Association President pledged to capture and spread the image of peace, noting that our current world still has a journey ahead to match nature's perfect balance.

The Future of Peace in Busan

The message from Busan is clear: Peace is not a distant political goal—it is a mindset. As Branch Manager Woo-nam Kim stated, peace starts with the individual’s commitment to respect and harmony.

This "Dialogue Square" isn't a one-time event. HWPL Global 03 Branch announced that these gatherings will be held monthly, with the next one scheduled for April 25, 2026. By building a community of peace-conscious citizens, they are turning a global vision into a local reality.

Peace is a choice we make every day. Will you start building the defenses of peace in your heart today?
