HWPL Launches “Peace Talk Europe” to Foster Civic Dialogue Across Europe

As social divisions deepen across Europe, a new space for respectful conversation and mutual understanding has emerged. In December, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) officially launched the first Civic Dialogue Forum, also known as “Peace Talk Europe,” creating a safe online platform where citizens can engage in peaceful dialogue beyond conflict and polarization.

Creating a Safe Space for Dialogue in a Divided Society

The first session of Peace Talk Europe was held online in mid-December, following discussions initiated at the European Peace Forum earlier this month. The program was designed as an open civic space where people from diverse religious, professional, and social backgrounds could freely share perspectives on community well-being, coexistence, and peace.

Rather than focusing on debate or persuasion, the forum emphasized listening, empathy, and reflection, encouraging participants to understand different viewpoints without judgment.

Voices from Europe: Dialogue Over Division

Participants from across Europe shared positive evaluations of the initiative.

A senior Hindu priest from a temple in the Netherlands described the forum as both well-structured and genuinely open, noting that dialogue rooted in self-reflection and mutual respect can play a meaningful role in easing social fragmentation and strengthening peaceful coexistence in local communities.

A Belgian civic activist and founder of a civil rights movement also highlighted the platform’s value, calling it a practical space for democratic participation where citizens exchange perspectives respectfully—beyond institutional or political frameworks.

Peace as a Daily Practice, Not a Debate

According to HWPL’s Netherlands team, the Civic Dialogue Forum was created in response to growing social tension in Europe, driven by multicultural challenges and political polarization. Organizers stressed that citizens need spaces where they feel psychologically safe to speak and listen.

HWPL representatives explained that sustainable peace cannot be achieved through arguments or policies alone, but through everyday attitudes, interactions, and communication among citizens. The forum intentionally avoids competitive debate formats, focusing instead on shared reflection and constructive engagement.

Expanding Peace Talk Europe

Following its first session, HWPL plans to hold the Civic Dialogue Forum on a regular monthly basis, expanding participation and encouraging a culture of peaceful communication not only in Europe, but eventually worldwide.

By providing a neutral and inclusive platform, Peace Talk Europe represents a growing effort to turn dialogue into a lived practice—helping citizens move from division toward understanding, one conversation at a time.
