HWPL’s Peace Initiatives Continue Even in Conflict Zones

Even in times of war, the desire for peace never fades. HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light), a global peace organization, continues to plant seeds of peace even in conflict zones like Ukraine. Through education and collaboration, HWPL is helping communities overcome hardship and build a culture of peace.

Peace Education Continues in Bomb Shelters

Despite the ongoing war, HWPL’s peace education reached 21 schools and universities in Ukraine in 2023, with 1,290 students completing the program. Some schools even conducted classes in bomb shelters.

At the Ukraine HWPL Peace Education Conference, 250 educators gathered to share best practices and discuss expanding the initiative. Teachers emphasized that peace education fosters gratitude, sacrifice, forgiveness, and respect—essential values for rebuilding Ukraine’s future.

Maria Tsenko, CEO of Poruch and an honorary doctor at Malmö University, highlighted its importance:
"We will continue to build peace schools, both physically and institutionally, to ensure that our children grow up in an environment where human rights are protected."

Expanding Interfaith Peace Dialogue in Korea

On June 5, 2023, HWPL’s Global 02 Branch Religious Peace Office opened at Yongmun Temple in Gwangju, South Korea, promoting interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding.

Venerable Seongjong, the head monk of Yongmun Temple, emphasized:
"Achieving peace requires religious leaders to come together, break down prejudices, and engage in open conversations. I hope this space will foster genuine dialogue and reconciliation."

Religious leaders and HWPL representatives pledged their commitment, marking a significant step toward Chairman Man Hee Lee’s vision that ‘All Religions Are One’ in the pursuit of peace.

Spreading Peace through Art: Mural Painting in Georgia, USA

In the U.S., HWPL’s youth group (IPYG) in Georgia hosted its second peace mural event, attracting 300 participants. Citizens and community leaders joined hands to paint a mural symbolizing peace and unity.

The event also featured yoga, Tai Chi, and community discussions, promoting a peaceful culture. Local leaders expressed interest in HWPL’s peace education, and local businesses supported the event. One participant noted:
"The work HWPL is doing is incredibly important. More people should be involved in peace initiatives like this."

Since 2019, IPYG Georgia has conducted peace education, workshops, and volunteer activities to reduce violence and promote unity. The group plans to expand these efforts, inviting more people to join HWPL’s global peace movement.

A Step Closer to a Peaceful World

Through education, interfaith dialogue, and community engagement, HWPL continues to build bridges of peace—even in the most challenging circumstances. The dedication of educators, religious leaders, and youth proves that peace is not just an ideal but a tangible goal that can be achieved through action.

As HWPL expands its global outreach, the vision of a world without war is becoming more real. Will you be part of this peace movement?
