Boikandashi, the Peace City of Ivory Coast 🌍✌️

One of the most significant milestones of HWPL’s peace efforts is the designation of Boikandashi in Ivory Coast as a "HWPL Peace City." This ceremony took place in May 2024, attended by leaders, politicians, and citizens from across the nation. Boikandashi stands as the first city in Ivory Coast to resolve ethnic and political conflicts peacefully. It has become a shining example of how peace can replace division.

During the ceremony, Guandiogou Gonon Bertin, the Minister of Reconciliation, expressed the importance of maintaining peace in everyday life and fostering peace through collective efforts. Kramo Kouassi, the Mayor of Boikandashi, also shared his commitment to peace, stating that the city will continue to serve as a beacon for unity in Ivory Coast. HWPL’s educational programs, such as peace education and youth peace-building groups, will now be implemented in Boikandashi to further the peace-building process.
