HWPL's Peace Education Making Strides in South Africa

In the quest for global peace, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), led by Chairman Man Hee Lee, has been actively promoting peace education worldwide. South Africa, situated at the southern tip of the African continent, boasts diverse cultures and a rich history. Despite historical challenges, the nation's commitment to peace was notably influenced by the legacy of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nelson Mandela. HWPL's engagements in South Africa have received enthusiastic support, reflecting the country's deep-rooted desire for peace. This blog post sheds light on HWPL's efforts in South Africa, exploring the impact of their peace education initiatives.

HWPL has solidified its commitment to peace education in South Africa through Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with various institutions, including the Gauteng Department of Education. The engagements include partnerships with 17 schools, such as Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School and Bontle High School.

HWPL's peace education initiatives in South Africa has been receiving positive responses. Notably, Peace Education teachers have actively embraced the values of peace, incorporating them into the curriculum. Beyond the education sector, various social figures, including government officials and community leaders, have expressed their support for the transformative power of peace education.

Peace educators praised about the contents of HWPL’s peace textbook and also stated about the positive changes made through the education. Michelle Aranse, a teacher from Holycross School, expressed her appreciation for the excellent content covering diversity, harmony, and conexistence in HWPL’s peace education. Teachers also witnessed the positive impact of HWPL’s peace education on classroom. A teacher from Arcadia Primary School, Chad Arense, stated that through everyday peace journal activities among students helped student’s growing awareness of the importance of mutual respect. This at the end brought a positive influence to classroom atmosphere and student relationships.

As we witness through testimony of teachers participating in the HWPL’s peace education, South Africa has been experiencing the positive impact of HWPL's peace education. The commitment shown by teachers, students, and community leaders in embracing the values of peace is a testament to the potential for a brighter future.
