IWPG Partners with Czech Artist Irena Prochazkova to Expand Peace Culture Through Art

Promoting Peace and Cultural Exchange Across Borders

The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 7, led by Director Kim Eun-kyung, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Czech artist Irena Prochazkova to strengthen peace and cultural collaboration through art.
The signing ceremony was held online, highlighting the shared commitment of both parties to use creativity as a bridge for understanding and peace.

This partnership aims to expand cooperation in the Peace-Loving Art Competition and art exhibitions, focusing on fostering empathy, cross-cultural dialogue, and the spread of a global peace culture inspired by IWPG’s vision and the values of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).

An Artist Dedicated to Peace and Expression

Irena Prochazkova is an internationally active painter who has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the United States, and Asia since 2018.
Since 2021, she has been recognized for her participation in international art fairs and peace-themed exhibitions that combine artistic expression with powerful social messages.

Recently, Prochazkova attended the 2025 World Women’s Peace Conference hosted by IWPG in Cheongju, South Korea, where she served as a final-round judge for the 7th Peace-Loving Drawing Competition on September 17.

Two Key Projects for Peace and Art

The newly signed MOU centers on two major initiatives designed to integrate art and peace education.

1. Peace Art Exhibition

The Peace Art Exhibition will:

  • Showcase peace-themed artworks by both children and professionals.

  • Promote empathy and cultural exchange through art workshops.

  • Connect exhibition programs with IWPG’s Women’s Peace Education and the values of the DPCW.

  • Include logistical and media support for venue coordination, curation, and public engagement.

  • Feature Prochazkova’s role as curator, mentor, and peace advocate, sharing her artistic insights with youth and the public.

2. Peace-Loving Drawing Competition

This initiative will:

  • Support the organization of national rounds, judging, and award ceremonies.

  • Build an international network among winning participants.

  • Encourage mentoring and motivational talks on creativity and the importance of peace.

  • Enhance global awareness of IWPG’s peace movement through the artist’s personal and professional network.

Strengthening Women’s Peace Networks Through Art

“I believe art is a powerful medium that transcends borders and connects hearts,” said Kim Eun-kyung, IWPG Global Region 7 Director. “Through this partnership, we hope to further strengthen women’s peace solidarity and promote a culture of peace in the Czech Republic.”

Expressing her appreciation, Irena Prochazkova added, “It is an honor to share the value of peace through art. I look forward to many meaningful collaborations with IWPG in the future.”
