IWPG and Ethiopia’s Prime Media Sign MOU to Expand Peace Media Cooperation

Building a Media Bridge for Global Peace

The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 2, led by Director Lee Seo-yeon, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Prime Media, a major Ethiopian broadcasting company, to strengthen peace reporting and communication.

The signing took place during the 2025 World Women’s Peace Conference at the Enford Hotel in Cheongju, Korea, and was attended by Mr. Korie Shankulie Arsie, Chief Operating Officer of Prime Media.

Joint Commitment to Peace Broadcasting and Education

Under the agreement, both organizations will collaborate on:

  • Producing and broadcasting peace-related content

  • Promoting IWPG’s Women’s Peace Education programs

  • Reporting on international peace events

  • Supporting the global dissemination of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW)

The partnership aims to expand access to reliable, peace-focused journalism and build a media network dedicated to sharing women’s voices and the values of coexistence and reconciliation.

“Media’s Highest Mission Is to Deliver Peace”

Prime Media COO Korie Shankulie Arsie expressed confidence in the partnership, stating:

“Delivering peace is the most noble mission of the media. With IWPG, I believe the language of peace will resonate across borders.”

Director Lee Seo-yeon of IWPG Global Region 2 highlighted future collaboration plans, saying:

“Through this MOU, IWPG will expand its peace media network across Africa, including Ethiopia. We plan to co-host a peace conference with local journalists during next year’s African Union (AU) event to discuss the media’s practical role in promoting peace.”

Following the ceremony, Arsie reaffirmed Prime Media’s commitment:

“Prime Media will serve as a bridge of communication for peace with IWPG. We deeply appreciate IWPG’s leadership in interpreting and practicing peace from a women’s perspective.”
