IWPG Busan East Branch and SBO Sign MOU for Women’s Peace Education and Public Projects

Expanding Cooperation for Peace and Social Value

On September 12, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Busan East Branch signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SBO (Service Business Operation), a medical welfare enterprise, at the 9th floor of Distahua in Busan. The agreement was officially announced on September 15.

The MOU aims to foster cooperation in various areas including support for women’s peace education, social value creation projects, and the expansion of regional and international networks.


Joint Initiatives for Education and Welfare

Under the agreement, both organizations outlined specific areas of collaboration:

  • IWPG Busan East Branch will support women’s peace education, introduce key organizations and leaders, and host hands-on programs such as the Peace Drawing International Contest booth.

  • SBO will contribute its expertise in hospital management and consulting to plan public-interest projects, provide opportunities for participation in IWPG events, utilize domestic and international networks related to women, peace, and welfare, and jointly design specialized projects to create social value.

Strengthening Community Impact

Branch Director Jang Myeong-ok emphasized the significance of the partnership:

“Through this MOU, we expect to see expanded cooperation between women members and local institutions. Women’s peace education and public projects will be actively promoted, creating meaningful opportunities for women and the community to grow together in peace.”

IWPG’s Global Peace Efforts

IWPG is an international NGO registered with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC). With 115 branches in 122 countries and more than 800 partner organizations, IWPG works to realize sustainable world peace through women’s peace education, spreading a culture of peace, and advocating for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) to be established as international law.
