IWPG Hwaseong–Osan Branch Brings Peace and Comfort Through Volunteer Service

On August 18, 2025, members of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Hwaseong–Osan Branch, led by Branch Director Choi Seung-hee, visited a senior welfare center in Osan City to share peace and care through a unique volunteer activity. As part of the World Women’s Peace Network Regular Gathering (SePyeongJeong) program, the branch offered nail art and hand massage services to elderly participants.

A Touch of Peace and Healing

The activity was designed not only to support the physical health of the elderly but also to bring them emotional comfort. Volunteers carefully trimmed nails, applied gentle colors, and provided soothing hand massages to promote blood circulation and relieve fatigue.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and warmth as seniors engaged in conversation and laughter with the volunteers.
One participant shared, “It feels like not just my hands, but my heart has been comforted.” Others expressed gratitude, saying the experience left them feeling “deeply warmed.”

Small Acts, Lasting Peace

Branch Director Choi Seung-hee reflected on the significance of the day:

“Spending this time of peace with the elderly has been deeply rewarding. I hope every small touch of service becomes a language of peace, as we honor the lives of those who have long contributed to their families and society.”
