IWPG Gimhae Branch Holds Women’s Peace Network Gathering
On August 22, 2025, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Gimhae Branch, led by Branch Director Song Hyun-joo, hosted its monthly World Women’s Peace Network Gathering at the branch office. The event served as a platform for members to share the value of peace, strengthen unity, and reaffirm their commitment to women-led peace initiatives.
Strengthening the Peace Network
Guided by the Peace Chair, members gathered to discuss ways to expand women’s peace education and enhance cooperation within the community. Through regular meetings, the branch aims to revitalize its peace network and raise awareness of the role women play in creating a culture of peace.
Peace in Everyday Life: Eco-Friendly Experience
A highlight of the gathering was a hands-on activity where participants created an eco-friendly mosquito repellent using natural ingredients. The session was met with enthusiasm, as members realized how small, practical actions in daily life can contribute to both peace and environmental protection.
One participant reflected that such experiences show how living peacefully also means living sustainably, connecting care for the environment with the broader mission of peace.
Women Leading the Way for Peace
Branch Director Song Hyun-joo emphasized the importance of women taking the lead:
“When women put peace into practice in their daily lives and share its value with others, peace in our communities—and eventually in the world—comes one step closer.”
She added that the Gimhae Branch will continue to organize diverse activities to deepen connections among members and spread peace awareness throughout the region.
