Caring for People, Protecting the Planet: HWPL’s Peace Activities in India

“We are one.” In a world still burdened by war, division, and suffering, this message is not just a slogan — it’s a global movement. The international peace organization HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) continues to expand its peace-building efforts across the globe, and recent activities in India show how caring for people and the planet go hand in hand.

From medical camps for children to tree-planting campaigns in partnership with local organizations, HWPL and its youth wing IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) are inspiring hope and action across Asia.

Medical Camp for Underprivileged Children

In collaboration with the Essas Charity Foundation, HWPL and IPYG members participated in a medical volunteer camp held on September 7, 2024, in India. Inspired by HWPL’s peace initiatives and youth empowerment efforts, Essa Foundation Director Ranjit Kumar invited HWPL volunteers to assist in providing free health checkups for children from low-income families.

The camp was made possible through the support of local medical professionals and donors. Dr. Puneet Kumar of Kumar Children’s Clinic led the examinations, while HWPL and IPYG volunteers supported logistics and hygiene management. The initiative successfully delivered health services in a clean and caring environment.

Ranjit Kumar remarked,

“HWPL holds a great vision, and I respect that deeply. The IPYG is a remarkable youth organization, and it’s a privilege for us to work with them.”

He also pledged continued cooperation with HWPL and committed to participating in future workshops and service projects.

A Greener Future: Tree Planting in Bangalore

On June 29, 2024, a large-scale tree-planting event titled “Tree Planting for Global Harmony” took place in Nandi Hills, Bangalore. Co-hosted by HWPL, IPYG, the Global Culture Foundation, and the Indian Youth Foundation, the event brought together 250 volunteers and 16 multinational companies (MNCs).

Participants planted 250 fruit trees, a meaningful step toward environmental restoration and climate action. More than just an ecological initiative, the event promoted community responsibility, youth participation, and peace education.

A video message from Joseph Cho, Director of IPYG Global Branch 5, expressed gratitude to the youth leaders and corporate representatives who made the event a success.

Arun Shivak Ganesh, founder of the Global Culture Foundation, shared,

“This was more than a tree-planting event. It was a chance for youth to actively practice peace, inclusivity, and sustainability. A single tree can plant the seed of lasting change.”

Building Partnerships: Mongolia Joins the Movement

Beyond India, the ripple effects of HWPL’s youth-led peace work are reaching neighboring countries. The Public Research Institute of Mongolia, a nonprofit focused on open data and environmental health, recently joined IPYG. The institute collaborates with civil society, academia, government, and media to promote data-driven decision-making for climate resilience and public well-being.

Executive Director Erdenesokh Sumiyasuren emphasized the power of youth alliances, saying:

“By working together, we can plant more trees, protect the earth, and build a better society. When youth unite, we become one family, and we can achieve anything in one world.”

A Vision for Lasting Peace

HWPL’s recent initiatives in India and beyond show that peace is more than the absence of war — it’s active compassion, shared responsibility, and global solidarity. By caring for people and healing the environment, HWPL and its partners are creating a sustainable path toward a more harmonious world.

Whether through a child’s smile at a health camp or the growth of a tree on a hilltop, peace begins with each action, each volunteer, and each heart that chooses unity over division.
