HWPL’s Global Peace Initiatives: Bridging Generations, Faiths, and Education for a United World

In an era where conflict and division persist, HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light), a leading global peace NGO, continues to pioneer efforts in uniting people beyond generations, religions, and nationalities. With an unwavering commitment to fostering peace, HWPL recently spearheaded significant initiatives in France, South Korea, and Nepal, demonstrating the power of grassroots movements in cultivating harmony worldwide.

1. Bridging Generations: HWPL’s Intergenerational Solidarity Campaign in France

On October 7, 2023, HWPL’s France branch launched a groundbreaking “United Generations” campaign at Bastille Square, Paris. This event, held during the UN’s International Day of Older Persons’ Blue Week, aimed to raise awareness about elderly isolation while fostering meaningful intergenerational connections.

Key Highlights of the Campaign:

  • An exhibition showcasing HWPL’s peace-building efforts in elderly care centers.
  • 56 heartfelt letters written by attendees to isolated elderly individuals.
  • 80+ participants engaged in various interactive activities
  • 30+ new supporters pledged to contribute to HWPL’s future peace initiatives.

Participants were deeply moved, with one attendee reflecting on their past volunteer experiences and emphasizing the campaign’s relevance in today’s fast-paced society. By encouraging empathy and understanding across generations, HWPL continues to inspire community-driven peace initiatives globally.

2. Promoting Interfaith Harmony: HWPL Peace Monument Unveiled in South Korea

HWPL’s vision of “We Are One” transcends borders and beliefs, exemplified by the unveiling of a Peace Monument at Manjusa Temple, Asan, South Korea, on October 10, 2023. This historic event, jointly organized by HWPL’s Global Branch 10 and the Korean Buddhist Daebuljong Order, marked a significant step toward religious unity and collective peace-building.

Significance of the HWPL Peace Monument:

  • Inscribed with messages of peace, freedom, unification, and the cessation of war.

The event highlighted HWPL’s ability to unite religious communities in a shared vision of peace, reinforcing the importance of spiritual collaboration in global peace efforts.

3. Peace Education in Nepal: Training the Next Generation of Peace Leaders

Education is a cornerstone of sustainable peace, and HWPL’s Peace Education Program has been making waves in Nepal. Between August 22 and October 13, 2023, 14 teachers from Asphodel Public School in Kathmandu successfully completed HWPL’s Peace Teacher Training.
