9th Anniversary of the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit
Heavenly Culture World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) will hold the 9th anniversary of the September 18th HWPL World Peace Summit on the theme of "Implementing a Multifaceted Strategy for Institutional Peace" from September 18th to 21st, 2023.
The conference is a forum of cooperation
and spread of peace to achieve ‘real peace’ with direct initiative and
participation of global citizens. Since the first conference in 2014, the
commemoration has been held annually in Seoul, South Korea, except during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
This year's commemoration, held offline for the first time after four years of pandemic, will feature more than 30 sessions organized around core peace-related agendas, including international law, religion, education, media, women, and youth.
More than 40 countries will make
presentations, including the United States, Canada, India, Brazil, Iran, South
Africa, and the Philippines. In particular, Ukraine, which is in the midst of
the Russian-Ukrainian war, will also be presenting. There will be a variety of
panelists from around the world, including experts in their respective fields,
as well as representatives from government agencies and civil society
organizations. The discussions will cover all areas necessary to realize peace.
HWPL believes that this year’s commemoration will be a time for introduce activities that countries have been doing to practically achieve the 'institutionalization of peace' and to exchange ideas for future peace movements. HWPL expect this year’s summit to be a meaningful occasion to confirm the willingness to achieve peace and discuss practical directions for peace.
Manhee Lee, the chairman of HWPL said, “HWPL
has been calling for peace around the world for the past 10 years, and its
echoes have sprouted in all corners of the globe and are now bearing fruit. HWPL's
many peace families are gathering strength as messengers of peace in their home
countries, societies, and families."
Affirming that peace is not just about words, Chairman Lee continued by saying "It must be accompanied by clear actions to achieve peace in reality. 'Peace solidarity' is important to move forward together in the same direction under the name of peace." In addition, he encouraged by saying, "Freedom and peace are for everyone. We must achieve them together. Let's do what we can to make them happen."
The first session to kick off summit will
be the HWPL Global Peace Leaders Conference. Former President of Romania Emil
Constantinescu and Chief Minister of the Autonomous Region of Bangor, Ahot
Ibrahim Al Haj Bangsamoro, are scheduled to deliver speeches.
