I Do Want to Live in a Safe World!

It was Wednesday (2023. May 31st) morning when I was hiking up the mountain Nam (Namsan) when I heard the loud sound of a siren. I did not know what was going on. It is not a sound that I would normally hear, especially early in the morning. A couple of minutes later, the same siren rang once again and then I got an evacuation alert which did not have much detailed information. About 15 minutes later, there was an announcement saying that it was a false alarm and that everyone should continue their normal life.

It was only when I came back home and listened to the radio that I could understand what the siren was all about. North Korea’s launch of a reconnaissance satellite on Tuesday triggered evacuation alerts and air raid sirens. Though it ended up as a false alarm, I realized how unprepared we are for the war.

What if the war actually broke out? I am sure that almost 99% of citizens are unprepared for war as it was in 1950 when Korean War broke out. No one was prepared for the war back in 1950 and it is still the same today. Why? It is because most Korean doesn’t feel the threat of war in their daily lives. However, this does not mean that Korea is at peace. Officially speaking, the Korean War is not finished. It is just in the armistice status. But people don’t realize this. I personally believe that Koreans are the ones who should pay close attention to achieve sustainable peace in the World. We are actually walking in a slightly frozen river where there is always the danger of ice being broken.

The danger of war and threatened peace is also found in a global society. Russia is a member of the UN Security Council which has the primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security. Ironically, Russia is currently in a state of war because their interest comes prior to World peace. The war between Russia and Ukraine shows the limitation of existing international regulations or systems to secure World peace. In other words, the current situation proves that we need a new system to obtain sustainable peace.

I don’t want to worry about the war, both domestically and internationally. War is not something that comes with a clear signal. You cannot predict when and where the war will actually break out. How risky and dangerous is this? Don’t you want to live with the certainty that you are living in peace? I hope that we can realize sustainable peace where everyone is guaranteed to live in peace. This is why I support world peace and the reason why I follow HWPL’s work.

Though there are many organizations supporting peace, I think highly of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and Restoration of Light (HWPL). HWPL is an international peace NGO aiming for global peace and cessation of War. In my opinion, the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) by HWPL contains the key to realizing and maintaining world peace. I highly recommend you check on your own to see if DPCW is really the answer for world peace (https://shorturl.at/jxDIO). I personally believe that DPCW is far from an armchair theory. Chairman Man Hee Lee proved this by enabling the civilian peace agreement in Mindanao. Starting with the peace agreement, the peace projects based on DPCW are in progress. Peace blossoming in Mindanao is globally spreading a hope that sustainable peace is not pie in the sky.

If you want to live in a truly peaceful world, take a look at the work of Chairman Lee and HWPL. It does not cost anything to find out the work of HWPL. Also, it would be too foolish to decide your mind before you find out the details about the work of Chairman Lee and HWPL. Be smart and be the main character of your life by checking details on your own and deciding your position about peace or anything in the world!
