Brief on the 7th Annual Commemoration of the DPCW
March 14th 2023, HWPL celebrated the 7th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) in Seoul, South Korea with the theme of “Institutional Peace: Strengthening Communication to Build Trust.”About 1,000 people, including 90 committee members for International Law and Peace, joined today's ceremony. This year’s commemoration will continue until the 19th of March participated by about 7000 people from 41 countries in the field of politics, law, education, religion, women and youth.
What is special about this year’s
commemoration is that people from 100 countries will write peace letters
calling for the end of the war between Russia-Ukraine and pointing out that the
invasion of Ukraine by Russia is a violation of international law.
Two special speeches were delivered during today’s commemoration. Prof. Md. Nazrul Islam gave a keynote speech with the title of “the significance and progression of the DPCW. And Ven. Myeong An deliver a message about “building interfaith trust through dialogue.”
