IWPG, Let's urge peace agreement through signature

At the 19th of Dec., 2017 IWPG opened the campaign of ten million signature for peace agreement.

It mean to urge to make a peace agreement.

They informed that the counts to sign a peace agreement is more than 130,000

and announce the statement.

『Urging Statement of concluding Cessation of War, Peace Agreement in The Korean Peninsula』

『한반도 전쟁종식 평화협정 체결 촉구 성명』전문

(Corp.) International Women's Peace Group is urging as stated below for you to join in campaigns of 'Concluding Cessation of War, Peace Agreement in the Korean Peninsula' and 'Ten Million Signature Campaign' wishing 018 Pyeongchang winter Olympics recorded in world history as a Peace Olympics which is coming up in 50 days.

㈔세계여성평화그룹(이하 IWPG)은 50여일 앞으로 다가온 018평창동계올림픽이 역사적인 평화올림픽으로 세계사에 기록되길 바라며 ‘한반도 전쟁종식 평화협정’ 체결 및 천만 서명 캠페인 동참을 아래와 같이 촉구한다.

IWPG is strongly denouncing nuclear provocation of North Korea.

IWPG는 북한의 핵도발을 강력 규탄한다.

North Korea has threatened and provoked the world by 6th nuclear test and ballistic missile test. By those tests, the Korean Peninsula became an explosive storage.

북한은 6차 핵실험과 미사일 도발로 전 세계를 위협하고, 한반도를 화약고로 만들었다.

IWPG is strongly opposing production and proliferation of nuclear weapon which threatens world peace and also denouncing armed provocation of North Korea which threatens peace in not only Korean Peninsula but also the world.

IWPG는 지구촌 평화를 위협하는 북한의 핵 생산과 핵 확산을 반대하고

한반도는 물론 세계평화를 위협하는 북한의 무력도발을 강력 규탄한다.

The war in Korean Peninsula has to be ended ASAP.

한반도의 전쟁은 조속히 종식돼야 한다.

After Korean War in 1950, North Korea and South Korea who is same race are pointing guns to each other up to now caused by a ceasefire agreement among UN(United States),

North Korea and China on July 27, 1953.

1950년 6.25전쟁 발발 이후 1953년 7월27일 유엔(미국), 북한, 중국 간 체결된 정전협정으로 인해 현재까지

남한과 북한은 동족을 향해 총부리를 겨누고 있다.

We need to hand down united nation to future generations.

통일된 조국을 유산으로 물려줘야 한다.

Are you not ashamed in front of ancestors and future generations that we are the only one nation in the world which is divided in half for the longest time (for 65 years)?

세계 유일, 최장기(2018년, 분단 65년) 분단국이라는 현실이 선조들과 후손들 앞에 부끄럽지 아니한가?

If you are the leader who loves your country and people, in order to hand down united nation to future generations, the leaders have to come ASAP to the table of forum to make an agreement on cessation of war and peaceful unification in Korean peninsula.

진정 나라와 민족을 사랑하는 지도자라면 통일된 조국을 유산으로 물려주기 위해

조속히 전쟁 종식과 한반도 평화 통일을 위해 대화의 장으로 나와야 할 것이다.

IWPG is urging peace treaty through conference of South Korea,

North Korea, United States and China.

IWPG는 남북한, 미국, 중국 4자 회담을 통한 평화협정을 촉구한다.

From 1974, North Korea has tried to make peace treaty with United States excluding South Korea.

북한은 1974년부터 대한민국을 배제한 미국과의 평화협정을 주장해 왔다.

In 1997, the representatives of South Korea, North Korea, United States and China which were involved in Korean War had 4-way-conference to conclude peace agreement.

However, it was not successful.

1997년에는 교전 당사국인 남한, 북한, 미국, 중국 대표들이

평화협정 체결을 위해 4자 회담을 가졌으나 성과는 없었다.

For this matter, IWPG is strongly urging those countries (South Korea, North Korea, United States and China) to have 4-way-conference abolishing ceasefire agreement and making agreement of peace treaty ASAP.

이에 IWPG는 이해당사국(남한, 북한, 미국, 중국)들이 다시 4자 회담을 열어 정전협정을 폐지하고,

조속히 평화협정을 체결할 것을 강력히 촉구한다.

Through peace treaty, if we eliminate destructive weapons including nuclear bomb in Korean Peninsula, have people to reunite with separated families from war and accomplish nongovernmental exchanges for the starter, we can overcome differences in culture caused by division for long time and peaceful unification will become reality in no time.

평화협정을 통해 핵을 포함한 모든 살상 무기를 한반도에서 제거하고

이산가족 상봉과 민간교류의 물꼬가 터진다면, 오랜 분단으로 인한 문화 이질감이 극복되고,

평화통일은 머지않아 현실로 도래할 것이다.

For those, IWPG is urging you to join in campaigns of 'Cessation of War, Peace Agreement in The Korean Peninsula' and 'Ten Million Signature Campaign'.

이를 위해 IWPG는 한반도 평화 실현을 위한 ‘한반도 전쟁종식 평화협정’ 체결 및

천만 서명 캠페인 동참을 거듭 촉구하는 바이다.
